The computer asks you where a place is, and you click the map where you think it is; on doing so, you will be shown a red marker where it actually is and told your error in kms, and a new question will be asked!
You can increase or decrease the number of questions by going to the option 'Range' below the map, entering a larger range, and clicking 'Add'. Or simply click the Nxt button to work through the questions. You might want to Shuffle the questions first.

Set
All Std Miss Mem Rng Map - These are Sets of places, with their current number of entries in brackets (Rng only has its number updated when used).
- 'All' is all places available
- 'Std' is (unless changed) the selection you are testing yourself with
- 'Miss' collects your poor answers for regular repeating
- 'Mem' is a store for your own personal use
- 'Rng' represents the Range selection (see later) and doesn't update its number until used
- 'Map' represents what's on the map.
Click on one of them to make it active (Red).
The items following, are actions to perform on the current set, using the last set as a modified (eg to add the last chosen set to the currently chosen one:
- Set - Make current set equal to last set
- Add - Add last set to the current set
- Drop - Drop last set from current set
- Clr - Empty current set
- Dump - Dump list of items in the info pane below
- DumpDat - Dump Data from list of items in the info pane below
- Asker - Ask Questions from current Set
- Shuffle - Shuffle current Set.
- Clicking 'Auto' automatically shuffles questions at the start and each restart
Range
This sets what the Rng set refers to
- Droplist - Select a predefined place range, or 'Custom' to enter a number range in the 'All' set
- (Low) - Enter a number range in the 'All' set, this needs the droplist to be 'Custom'
- (High) - Enter a number range in the 'All' set, this needs the droplist to be 'Custom'
- Nxt - Set questions to next block
Item
An item is a place name, appearing on the map, in a question or answer, or in a dump of a set. You can click on such items to perform the following actions.
- Ask - Ask current Item as Question
- Add - Add current Item to current Set
- Drop - Drop current Item from current Set
- Reloc - Relocate current Item on Map - your next map click will relocate it
Miss
These options apply to the 'Miss' set
- Good - When your guess was at least this close to the answer, regard it as Good (This removes an item from the 'Miss' set after several good hits)
- OK - Between the values is regarded as neither good nor bad
- Poor - When your guess was further than this close to the answer, regard it as poor (This adds it to the 'Miss' set)
- On - Collect up poor items in the Miss set
- Ask - Automatically reask items in the Miss set with special frequency until you get them right several times in a row
Data
These options apply to when you click on the map
- Add Click As - Enables you to add a new data item by entering a place name here and clicking on the map. You can change the map and enlarge it to see places to click on. Add ; after a letter to add an accent.
- # - Make the blobs disappear if they are getting in the way of clicking on the map. Click # to show them again.
- ^ - Float the item adder; this is useful when you have scaled up the map hugely to see places
Blobs
Blobs are the colour squares on the map to show where places are
- Col - Set background color of map blobs in rgb format eg ff0000 for red, 00ff00 for green, 0000ff for blue (this is for showing places not the question-answer blob)
- Rng - Choose a random colour each time
Map
This chooses how the map looks and its size
- Choose from a selection of maps as background
- Scale - Type new Scale of Map as an absolute width or % width of screen, and hit Enter! This is useful if it is currently too big for your screen, or if you want to make it huge with the map showing place names for adding new items to test yourself
- Opacity - Enter the transparency of the map (0 (transparent) to 1 (opaque)) and hit Enter! This is useful if the map is too bright and you want to see the markers better
Region
- Turkey - Set Map and Questions to Turkey
- UK - Set Map and Questions to UK
Stats
Shows overall Stats
- (Figures) Displays current stats once you start answering questions
- Clr - Clear the statistics to start again
- ShowSets - Show statistics for individual sets
Info
- Clr - Empty the Info Pane
